Name: Ðæmøπ Kãr∂sμ (Day-Mon, Kah-Rah-Soo)
Age: 18 Winters
Gender: ♂
Race: Crow Demon (Specifically a Corvus Corax / Raven)
Class: Demon Prince
I think I am literate and competent enough to fulfill the role.
Nationality: Ðæmøπ keeps his home at thePinetum Gregatim. He was born and raised there, and belongs to his own clan which he himself rules as general and prince. (Where is this land? and what does the name mean?)
Weapons: Ðæmøπ keeps a custom sword resembling a saber. The alterations from it's traditional form include an extension in length to both it's blade and it's hilt, thus making it an optionaly two-handed weapon. It is back heavy to provide a greater degree of control and speed.
As far as aesthetics go, it's rather plain with a leather wrapped handle and full bell guard. It is made of simple steel. He wears it off his left hip in a thin scabbard.
Magic: All of Ðæmøπ's powers are atleast vaguely related to his demon type. Reasons will be given alongside the powers, as well as descriptions and limitations of them. I like to make it clear what my character can and can not do so that way I'm not making up bull during play. ^.^ I'm sure such will be appreciated.
Powers are color coded: Red = Offensive Blue = Defensive Green = Just a Skill
MAJOR: Wind Sorcery (Character can shoot emmission waves or use his powers to attack in ways similar to an air cutter, this power is magnified when using a medium such as his sword. He can also manipulate fully the air around him [limit about 10ft max?])
This power is given based off his Class and the fact that as a bird, air is the element most closely related to him.
MAJOR: Prescience (Character may look to the future and predict what is coming. This is can be used at any time, but is limited to 3 seconds ahead at maximum as its limitation)
This power is given because much folklore describes Raven's as birds of prophecy. They are also often used as ill omens and many seers (such as merlin) have taken on Raven forms.
MODERATE: Raven shape shifting (Character can shift his body at will in relation to Ravens, perhaps just growing wings, maybe turning into the bird)
I really do want this power, my character to be able to shift between these forms that is. If there is no way, then there isn't. I would like it though. It's simple enough to explain, he is a crow demon so he can shift to the form of a crow.
MINOR: Liars Mind (This power allows him to project false thoughts into the mind readers head and protect his own thoughts. The power is 100% useless unless he runs across a mind reader.)
Ravens are wise, and I submit much of the same reasoning that I gave for his prescience. He would have a strong mind, as Corvids (Specifically Ravens) are among the most intelligent birds in the world. I submit the following excerpt (If you do not give a damn, please feel free to completely skip it. It will be color coded to make that easier for you):
"Birds don't have an elaborate cerebral cortex, therefore their day-to-day functioning was believed to be strictly based on their genetic programming, making them almost robotic in nature. However, in the 1960's, neurologist Stanley Cobb found that the avian brain is all together unique system. Rather than a cortex to provide intelligence as the case is with mammals, he found that birds have developed a part in the forebrain called the hyperstraiatum to perform synonymous functions. Crows, ravens, and magpies appear to have the largest hyperstriatums, as well as the largest overall brain size among birds. Moreover, these corvids have brains that contain an exceptionally large number of brain cells. From "Bird Brains," by Candace Savage, she writes: "Crows, ravens, magpies and jays are not just feathered machines, rigidly programmed by their genetics. Instead, they are beings that, within the constraints of their molecular inheritance, make complex decisions and show every sign of enjoying a rich awareness."
Crow enthusiast L.Kilham says that crows and ravens exhibit a decision making ability, citing the following example: A male crow is eating his food in front of a man. Is the crow going to do as usual by going to the nest to feed the female? No, possibly afraid to alert the man of the nest location, he decides to hide the food under some tuft of grass to attain later when it is safe.
Additionally, ravens may have the innate ability to cogitate object numbers--count in a sense. German ethnologist, Otto Koehler, tested this theory by presenting a raven with a group of objects, ranging from two to six in composition. Beside the group of objects were a set of five boxes, each labeled by black dots, two to six. The raven's lob was to match the number of objects with the number of black dots on the lid of the box, whereupon a food reward would be relinquished. Apparently, in trial after trial, the raven successfully accoplished the counting task.
Moreover, crow and raven intelligence is evident by their seemingly mastery and manipulative powers over other creatures in their domain. They often let others do the work for them. Ravens will call wolves and coyotes to prospective food sources so they can open up the carcass, making the meat accessible to the birds. And often, they will wait for birds with specialized foraging skills to make a catch (e.g. blue heron and crane), then cunningly, utilizing cooperative tactics, seize the catch for themselves. A British authority, Sylvia Bruce Wilmore, says they are just "quicker on the uptake" than most animals including the well-thought-of mammals that humans associate intelligence to. Apparently Ms. Wilmore has many animals about her home including a tame cow which she claims dominates the other animals. Well, the crow possibly sensing this, has reportedly picked up the cow's leash to parade him around the home turf!"
Appearance: Ðæmøn has a rather common appearance, though his features are hard and stern. He has dull blonde hair and pale skin. His eyes are a cold blue and are often quite lacking in any amount of sheen. He has a severe lacking in demonic features but they can come out at the worst of times. His eyes glow bright in dim lighting and should he smile he can't help but show a little fang. He has long sharp nails and his face can contort beyond what is physically possible when angered.
His appearance can sometimes vary widely depending on his frame of mind. When at his best and giving off seldom shown good emotion his appearance can soften and eyes can gloss. At his worst his fangs and claws can extend, eyes proportion can shift, and his veins can reign over his skin.
He stands at approximately 6'3" and weighs a little over 150lbs. His height is a result of his genus the Corvus Corax (Raven) which is the largest species of crow. His hair is of a medium length and is soft and waved. He has an athletic body and his limbs are slightly too long for his frame.
Clothing: Ðæmøn is almost never without a flowing ,oversized, inky black cloak. Should you get under it though... He wears a sleeveless tight fitting black top and Long black slacks. He also keeps a woven leather belt and has two chains upon his neck. One has a silver ring with a blue stone between two trinity knots. The other has a pendant with the moon of his birth.
Personality: Ðæmøn's raven affinity makes him similar to the species in most ways. As he is young, he is flirtatious at times and has little loyalty save family. When he gets older however, he does plan to settle down. He keeps a cold demeanor for the majority and flaunts acrobatic and combative skill when trying to impress.
He is considerably territorial and often requires his personal space. When not shoving himself into solitude his relationships with others are varied. He is very racist against dwarves but can live peaceably with elves and quite enjoys the benefits humans bring him. That being said, he still considers his own species to be far above the rest.
Other than that, Ðæmøn is remarkably intelligent. Oh! and did I mention he likes shiny things?
What I have bought: ~Blank~
Other: Because I am used to adding it elsewhere, I submit his nature. He is neither a good nor evil person. He has a conscience and morals but is out for himself regardless. His only side is his own side, though depending on his feelings toward others this may provide additional people with benefit.
History: Ðæmøn was born in the mountains among his kin. His life was harsh, as demons were seldom welcomed outside their territory. He grew used to ill treatment until evolving to disguise his true nature. Skill with with a sword came naturally to him and his demonic powers developed far faster than that of his brethren. Ðæmøn trained daily and developed a domineering and highly influencial role among his ilk. He serves sometimes as a Demon Ambassador and when asked, claims himself to be "The Demon King".
RP example: Ðæmøn's eyes shot at her like lightning as she called him, 'youth'. It bothered him somewhat, being referred to as such. Of course, he was younger than her; but that was by racial distinction. It wasn't his fault that her species took centuries just to reach puberty. Her kind's immaturity was no fault of his own.
"Youth?" he questioned. His voice was curious, and kind. He let off a bit of a smile before he bothered to continue. His fangs would have shown prominently had they not been veiled in darkness.
"What manner of being is it, pray tell, that can develop a hundred seasons passing, or yet more, and still find itself an incompetent at its own game? You come to me, weary girl, and I do say thou must be weary, and call yourself incapable based off thy own youth. Thy own youth?! Elven maiden, you are very funny. I shan't tell you what manner of being it is that which i refer, though I presume you guess. I do wonder, if all elves are so slow? So slow in manner that they fail to catch their own tongue as it doth fork without aim. Or is it you're just a miserable representation? Youth indeed? In comparison you refer to me as such!"
He said the last part in a bit of a huff, clearly finding himself indignant. The girl showed little skill in diplomacy, but of course he could not hope nor expect anything more of her. Of course not.
''Twould be wrong of me,' he thought whimsically, ''Twould be wrong to expect more... After all, she is just a 'youth'...'
Ðæmøn turned on her and folded his hands low upon his back. He began to pace to-and-fro, then decided to continue in his high speech. His voice lowered from his last line's exclamation; turning soft and calm.
"I dare say, you've caught sight of my direction. You must have. Say you haven't and I'd think of you lower still. I am traversing Akia's peaks. I do plan on going alone... Do you aim to insult me? To call me incapable? Do you aim to warn me of what you believe is unseen danger? You think I am some ignorant fool??? That must be it! I hardly think you're just calling thine own race inferior. That it? Or is it... that you are just sexist?"
He ended his thesis with a smirk. His eyes had come back to her, and were glinting with a sort of inborn light. They were kind. As he turned to face her fully, his expression came into view. His features clearly showed he had just been teasing. He was not truly angry, he had been having a bit of fun.
He took in her countenance after giving off his, and observed her reaction. He hoped she had taken him seriously. This was one of the many ways Ðæmøn amused himself, slinging his words at others like show knives. He loved to make it clear the reason for his position at council, and he always had fun taking to people's retorts.
Additional Reasons I ought be accepted:
I am very adept at following the rules, I doubt I will get in trouble. I am typically an incredibly active member of the sites I play on. I am incredibly literate and my spelling and/or grammatical errors are seldom by comparison to most. Accepting me gets you an additional artist, who enjoys drawing scenes from the role-play and making things for Forum events. All drawings and animations I use will be my work, or heavily heavily edited by me. If they are not a product of my work alone, such will be noted. Ex: Done for another forum where a dance was held. My character's appearance has evolved since then, but yeah.

Haha because of the last bullet point, you're accepted. Lol, but before he's truly accepted, let's straighten out your offer above about him being a prince or any relation. If you'd like, he can fall under the name of a demon prince, however, he'd have to have his own clan or whatever. So, there's a clan land open called "Pinetum Gregatim" under the clans category. That way, I won't have to get into detail about him being high authority but him not having a specific clan of followers... If you sorta get what I'm saying ^^
So if you want to have your own land and construct a clan however you wish, then fix up your profile so it's states he's claiming it, and his nationality is that land. Make sense? If you don't want that, then tell me in your reply and we can figure something else out. BTW, nice profile.

post fixed... power outages in my area.. sucked really bad. glad my app was kept though.. I think I changed what you wanted me to. I'm going to have to re-read a few things to get them back in my head.
Want to give me any pointers on playing my role as prince should i get it?

Quote:
(Where is this land? and what does the name mean?)
Copied and pasted from the "Independent Clans" Category
Pinetum Gregatim This land is mainly made of of pine trees. Whatever clan lives here prefers to be hidden and sheltered by the plants. The clan/ land gets its name from latin, meaning "Pine Wood Herd/flocks/troops". The land is uneven and supplies many waterfalls and streams.
^ There's where the board is, the description, and the meaning. When owning this land, you must clarify your position by creating a thread in which you state it as your land. See this thread for a reference.
When ruling a clan/herd/ etc., you choose your own set of rules (what races are involved, punishments, etc.). PM me the rules you want to start off with. I don't want someone stating in their profile they are a centaur joining your clan if centaurs aren't aloud. get that so far? Whenever someone states in their profile they want to be a part of the clan, I'll add it to the both the population board and the header inside your land's board. Whenever you appoint someone as you character's adviser or mate, PM me ASAP. That's important so I can post it up in the header.
And, obviously, your character doesn't follow any King or Queen, but they can have their allies if they wish. If you don't understand anything or are having problems with running the clan, feel free to PM me or ask in the "questions" sub-board located in the chat board. Your character is now accepted and ready to role play! Don't forget to come up with basic rules (mainly if its a racist clan or welcomes any race).
